I know that HOB filters should turn your tank over 5-10 times an hour, but my question is how many times should a canister filter turn your tank over in an hour? To be more precise which filtstar xp canister would be good on a 37 gallon tank? Also on a 55 gallon tank i have a AC 200 and a BIO-Wheel Power PRO 60, i'm thinking about trying plants and ditching the biowheels for a canister for biological filtration, what canister filter would you suggest to work with the AC 200?
THANKS

don't have a direct answer fo you, but I have an XP2 on my 29 and will eventually have an XP1 on my 10...both way over kill, but I like overkill :)

Canisters allow you to pack them up a fair amount and IMO are more effective than equivalent flow rated HOBs

Gomer,

How do you do filter output in those tanks? I have an XP1 on my 20 right now. On full tilt with the spray bar it created enough current to make a salmon blush. ;) I hooked up the flow control piece and have cut the output down, but I was wondering if perhaps you had another recipe for keeping your 10g from turning into a laundromat.
