I am considering changing my gravel I have a well astablished tank and I am using a Fluval 204 my tank is a 20 gal I want to change from gravel to black sand problem is I have fish in the tank and I wanted to know if it is alright to do a partial gravel change with fish in the tank, Does this affect the nitrites alot will it stress the fish any info would be great so either email me or reply cheers dudes.

i guess the gravel holds quit a lot of you nitrites so if you did 1/2 then 1/2 it should be ok that way it would not change as much as it normaly would.
if you haven't got many fishyou coudl always move mthem into a bucket or smaller tank why you do it that way you have less to keep your eye on
