OK- I have a couple Green Barbs, and as of lately one likes to hang out in between the corner and my thermometer. There is only enough room for him to squeeze in vertically and he sits head down. Usually after a while he will take off and play with his buddy. I don't know if they are male or female. Any Ideas? Should I be worried?

Does the other barb show aggression? What is the temperature of the water? These are the only problems I can think of. I'm not to sure about green barbs but I know most if not all barbs like groups of at least four. That could also be a problem.

Well they normally play good together, chasing each other and racing around the tank. I noticed last night that when one is in that corner, the other will sometimes just hang out near him, like hes waiting for him. I’ve had them for about 5 weeks now and they just started this behavior this past week. Also they both are still pretty small, I chose two little ones so we could watch them grow. Do you think I should get 1 or 2 more to help. I dont want to crowd the tank to much...

i wouldnt be worried ive seen my barbs that ive had in the past just stay in one spot with their nose down and fins up and my rainbow sharks do the same thing. ive noticed this behavior for about a year now thruout fish keepin that ive done. i think they are just resting or sleeping or whatever you want to call it. if they are acting normal when moving around then i wouldnt see that they have any problems. keep an eye on them and if you notice them doing anything different from that, that may be the time that you may get worried.

and ive kept green, platinum green, albino, and regular tiger barbs in the past and no harm was ever done to them
