Im wondering if it is at all possible to keep a green terror alone in a 29 gallon. Weekly water changes and about 400 gph on the filter. I suppose the sex of the terror could also have some impact, yet at the moment I'm unsure of it as it is only about 3 inches long.

Edit: If not, would it be possible to do so with only a gold severum?

Thanks

EDIT: They can get up to 12 to 14 inches so a 55 are 75 would be good.

Convicts, Jewels, maybe a dempsey can stay in a 29 for life.

while possible yes, oscars too can grow from 16-18 inches, but nearly 90% max out at 11-12. Green terrors usually max at about 8-9, with the females 7-8.

I may decide to opt for a jack dempsey after I give some thought to the subject, I had a real nice experience with one in the past.

A 29g is a bit small, but you could keep one for a little while. You cannot have tankmates unless you want them dead, period.

IME, Green Terrors grow kind of slow, or rather in spurts. Jack Dempsey's will far exceed a GT in rate of growth and sheer size.

if you want to stay out of the conversation then why did you post?

A single GT in a 29 gal isn't a good idea.

A single GT in a 55 gal would be better.

after realizing my purchase, which i made because the store had an everything 80 cents sale( including expensive fish, they said they just simply had too many), wouldnt work, i took the little gt back and brought home a male and female convict. They are getting along great and have already started to court each other:rolleyes: . Anyway, here's a pic:

The male is normally darker, but he didnt seem to like the camera..the female posed for shots:p . Also, the rock over the flowerpot is to keep it unnoticable when looking at the tank, I hate the look of openly displayed pots.
