Well, looks like not only is someone photo-happy but someone is also getting some excellent shots! Great job! What do you have for a camera? I always end up getting blurry stupid pics of my fish, and I even have a 5.0 MP!
Great shots, Dave!

The camera is a Canon Powershot A95 5.0 MP. I cannot take clear shots while holding the camera. I use a tripod I got at Best Buy.

The camera is using ISO 200, 1/10-1/60 apertures, no flash, and manual focus (I finally figured out it had one!). The manual focus is kind of tricky to use, but I'm getting the hang of it. I have to wait until the fish are still...I suppose I could up the ISO, but I'm lazy like that! :D I get one decent photo out of 3-5 shots or so.

Thanks for the compliments!

Wow, wow, wow. Did I mention wow?!?!? (Just thought I'd make sure. Lol.)
Those are some really neat pics (and fish, especially that Green Terror, whoa.) Please tell me where you got them, for I am in love.

Yup. I second that "WOW". Awesome shots. Wish I could make room for another tank - I would get a GT!
(p.s. and I have a tripod too!!!! Dayum, guess I just have bad luck with photos.....) ;)

Nice shots Avalon.

Without a flash huh? I may just not have enough lighting to do that. That and I have the shutter speed juiced up to the the fast little fish I have, so I kinda have to have a flash.

cool, i love big cichlids and yours are ace *thumbsups

what sexes are they?
Thanks!

They are both males, and they get along exceptionally well...for now :D The Midas is just hitting sexual maturity, but so far, so good. He's a fiesty one, but I interpret his actions as a "happy fish." Currently, the GT is a little meaner, a bit more mature, but "considerately passive."

Also in the tank are 3 green severums (2 of nice size & one runt), one fairly large pleco, and 4 very happy loaches that are growing rapidly on the cichlid's diet.

Some history about the fish:

November will mark GT's 4th birthday. He was named after the electronic musician, BT, who I was into at the time of GT's "inception." GT would hang out in a corner, away from all the other fish, and appeared to listen as I jammed out. I bought him was he was a little 1" squirt in the water; he's now pushing 10". :D He has a trademark personality, and he's been the coolest pet I've ever owned, aside from a pet bandy rooster named "Noodle." :D

The GT, along with the Midas and the loaches were all purchased at Petsmart. I happen to be lucky and have a caring staff at my local store, and I let them know it. While not the brightest bulbs in the box, they care, and that's what matters most. *thumbsups
