Green Terror Temperature

I keep reading that GT's should have a temperature between 68-76. I thought that cichlids were all a higher temperature type fish, like 78-82. I have mine set at 78 right now, but I was wondering if I should lower it a bit, and if so, what should I have it at? All websites tell me different stuff. What do you guys think?

i dunno, did you look this stuff up before you bought it? Maybe ask the person you got it from what they had the water temp at.

hello. since the GT is a south american cichlid (with a central american personality) you could/should keep him at about 78-82 IMO.

the large centrals you can keep in the 68-78 range, but most people recommend higher for south american cichlids.

78 will be fine, a little cooler would be better , but oh well.. he should be very happy at that temperature.

Big place South America, strange how the water temperature is the same everywhere. However as it's unlikely it's wildcaught you're better looking at the temp in a Florida fish farm
