green thing

Looks kinda like one of those corals that has a long smooth stalk with a slightly inverted mushroom-looking, almost flat disc at the top. This thing is a plant, I think, but maybe someone here knows better? It's green and has sprouted from some crumbs of dead algae- the calcified, plated kind you sometimes get on a piece of Caribbean live rock. I'll try and take a picture.

Probably a type of macro algae, no idea the name though so i can't help much. I've had some in my tank. Or at least some that looks like this...

Its harmless, and i find kind of cool, if indeed this is what you have.

I think it's awesome, but I can't see your picture for some reason. I am not worried about it, just like to identify things as I still have that "new car" feeling about salt water.
