Growthrate of Severums

I was wondering if anyone really knows how fast severums grow or are supposed to grow. I can't seem to find a website that will tell me.

I have a gold severum in my 55g tank. She is about 4 1/2 inches long. I figuered it out and the best estamite of how long I have had her is around 8 months. She was just a little baby then, maybe 1 1/2 inches.

I thought that they grew faster then this? However, I really don't have anything to compair her to, the only larger cichlid I keep are Angels and they (in my opinion) grow pretty fast. She is healthy, very beefy and eats well, maybe I am just being paranoid?

That seems ok - how often and what are you feeding? Try 5 feeds a day - things grow pretty fast then!

5 feeds a day! Wow, that is a lot. I feed all my tanks a staple deit of regular flake food, often times more then one kind of flake at a time. I also feed them numerus frozen foods like Brine shrimp and Blood Worms. Lately however, I have not been able to get to a store to buy more frozen food ( I must travel 30-40 min away to get to a pet/fish store). So all my fish are unhappy with me at the moment. I normally feed the 55g tank twice a day and maybe a third time but not as much. Like a late night snack...
