Hey all... I've finally got my old Aqua Clear 300 (now number 70) to suction up the water through the intake dealie... but now the motor is sort of "grumbling". Its noisy, making a funny noise like its unhappy LOL Any ideas?
how long have you had the filter?
If its brand new and you first started to use it, you have to fill its chamber first ad not just have the impeller draw up the water. Ive never used a AC but Im relativly sure its the same for about all of them.
I also found that Aquaclears often make a growling sound from the lid vibrating on the filter body. Placing a small object such as a paperback book on the lid can silence it.
For a rattling lid I find you just push it down and it stops. The motor nosie is either impeller dirty or intake clogged. Again make sure the intake tube is pressed on the impeller.
Any ideas?
