I have a 12 gallon fully cycled artificially planted Eclipse tank that I thought would work great for a few guppies - so far of the 8 I've gotten over the past few weeks, only 2 females are surviving and one of those looks like it might follow the path of the others..  The only thing I can see wrong with them before they die is that their pectoral fins start looking sorta ragged and they stop using them a lot..  Their other fins look fine..  What could be causing this??  I mean, if it was fin and tail rot, I figure their other fins would be affected too...  And I haven't seen them picking on each other.

Anybody got any ideas??   ???

Crappy guppies?  Guppies are one of the worst fish to have, especially the inbred, imported from Singapore LFS variety. These fish have absolutely no stamina what so ever. These
guppies are subceptible to a whole lot of disease, including neon-tetra disease and various fin rots.

If you enjoy guppies, visit your local aquarium society to find out where breeders near you are.  Fish bred locally will already be acclimated to your water conditions and have a better opporutinity in your tank. You'll also be more likely to find disease free animals since lots of breeders take better care of their fish.
