hey,

for a week or so now ive thought my female guppy has been heavily pregnant, then a few days ago she started having white poo's, which i read up on and it could be an intestinal disease, well today ive looked at her and shes alot smaller but no sign of any fry... yes i know they could all have been eaten but my question is if she did have that intestinal disease could it have just subsided and shes now gone back to her normal size? shes in good health and as active as she was before hand eating and everything?

any help would be greatly apreciated.

Hi Ryan, welcome.
If she is acting normally now, I wouldn't be too worried. If you see her stop eating or getting listless, then that may be a concern. Look at her whole body carefully - does she have any white fuzzies? Red spots? Protruding scales? If not, she was probably just pregnant and the fry were eaten.
What size tank is she in? What other fish does she live with? Is the tank properly cycled?

The white poo was the fry.

They get very hungry after birth - in part because they don't eat much as birth approaches.

If you want fry....make a very fry friendly tank and see if 1% can make it or make a breeding tank.

shes always been active, even when she was huge, shes only in a 5gal tank with 2 corys, 2 platys, a pleco and 3 other guppies.

a little bit of history about her, when i first bought her i had her in my 2 gal small start up tank... had alot of problems keeping the water good (took it to be tested once and the person who tested it couldnt believe anything was still alive in the tank) so 3 of the 6 fish died and i managed to save her and 2 corys which have no problems now at all, since then (about 4 weeks ago) shes slowly been getting bigger, so thats why i thought about the intestinal virus because of the old crappy water.

the tank was fully cycled and the water gets tested once a week to ensure everything is going in the right direction

currently one of the platys is pregnant and seems to be doing well.

here some pics of her... sorry about the quality

when she was 'pregnant' pic taken about 1 week ago, she did get a bit bigger

breeder net was for a platy fry i saved from a mates tank

and here's after

not the best of pics but you can see the difference.
