Hello,

My female guppy that just had fry has got an injury on her tail.

At first it looked like a "white spot" but after I looked close its actually as though a piece of her is missing.

This picture is bad but its all i could get right now.

What can I do for her?

I can't see in the picture. Is the peice of her that's missing deep? Where is it on her body?

If it's just a scale that's lifted away or a bite out of her tail you can add some Melafix to your tank and that will help it heal cleanly. Do NOT add salt while you have the cories in your tank.

was she the guppy that was HUGELY pregnant with fry? If so it could easily have been a problem with the birth, as that was A LOT of fry it looked like for her size, or it could have been something else.

Yes it was butterfly the super preggy guppy that had 80 fry.

Maybe she was ill and thats why she lost the babies?

Thanks TabMorte, unfortunately this was my daughters fish .... its always her fish that ends up having issues, poor thing will not be happy when she gets in from school.

I've noticed you have a lot of live bearing fish.

You may wish to set up a 'female tank' and a 'male tank' to help control stress and pregnancy. Or just suggest to your daughter she pick a male (they're prettier!).

My daughter has her heart set on having 'live birth' fish as she calls them and I keep pointing out 'prettier' fish which thankfully has worked until now. I can't imagine being constently preggers can lead to a long, happy, healthy fishy life.
