Gurgling Water Intake

I had a wet/dry with filter floss and bio balls and recently modified it by removing the filter floss and bio balls after many recommendations to do so. However, when I did that, it seems now my overflow box, where the water drains to the sump gurgles uncontrollably. Does anyone have any recommendations to quite down my system and remove all this gurgling noise?

A prefilter sponge will help cut down on noise.

Yeah, I am using that, but the noise still remains. It seems ever since I took the filter floss out before the sump entrance the water flows faster and noisier.

Yoiu could always put a polypad to cushen the fall.

if you direct the flow towards the wall rather than straight down it will reduce noise...you can also drill holes inside the drain pipe (after it is into the sump/filter box of course) and it will reduce the splashing noise

if the gurgling is from the pipe itself, do you have a durso standpipe set up? that will cut noise a lot ime
