I would say I blame it on everyone who spells out the name fully but it was weird. Maybe someone knows what happened. I bought the fish, acclimated him properly over approximately 30 minutes. Put him into my tank (which is established and running fine) and he swims to the bottom and flips over on his back. I gave him a few minutes he didn't move and he was barely respirating. I pulled him out and put him in QT and he was dead within 15 minutes. Sounds like some kind of shock to me but I just wonder what it might be so I can prevent it in the future. It was a marble sailfin pl*co that I bought, are they vulnerable to certain water characteristics that others aren't?

Sorry to hear about your loss. I do have a question though, why did you put him in the tank and not the QT tank to begin with? Also, an established tank really means nothing if the water perams are not in the range needed for the new fish, but the sailfin's aren't really fussy aboutwater conditions so this may not have anything to do with your problem unless your pH is below neutral (7).
