I have one of these, was a great little gadjet when my colombian sharks were smaller. They'd make a horrible mess of frozen blood worms and brine shrimp. This kept the food from scattering all over the tank. Its also amusing to watch them come up and bump their nose against it to knock more worms free. What it works really great for is if you have smaller fish that might not eat a whole frozen cube of worms/shrimp. They eat what they want, and then you can lift it out and feed the rest to another tank, or throw it out. Can't go wrong for a couple bucks right :D.

Forgot to add. I don't know how well it would work for big fish (6" and up) When my colombians were about 4", they were knocking this thing around pretty good. Now that there 6" it wouldn't surprise me if they were able to knock it right off. I don't use it anymore, but maybe I'll test this :D.

how my guppies and dwarf gourami be able to suck it? it seems pretty hard.. if the holes are small enough to keep them in it how hard would it be to try and suck them out..

I have used these for years with great success. I agree with above posts that you should use the suction cup to fasten it to the side of the tank.

I have used frozen worms and they work in the feeder but not very well.

In addition to the worms wiggling out the fish will suck them out. Without the feeder the live worms will escape into the gravel.

If you plan on feeding live worms these are a must. As an additional tip . . . use a dropper used to give liquid medication to children to suck up the worms and then squirt them into the feeder. Saves having to grap the worms with your fingers.

I disagree with only live worms. I've used frozen cubes of tubifex worms and brine shrimp in mine and it works well enough. They just bump it with their nose and as the cube melts parts start to stick out of the holes. The fish grab em, give a tug, and are gone generally.
