In my 10g, I've got 3 silver hatchet fish, a dwarf flame gourami and some inverts. Last night I saw only 2 hatchets in the tank . YIKES!

A quick look around the tank and there was the jumper on the counter between the tank and wall. Poor little feller was covered in fuzz/dust. I had to nudge him with a net to be able to reach him. Got him back into the tank and he kind of wobbled and sank. Still covered in fuzz and whatnot.

Within minutes he/she was all cleared up and bobbing at the top with the others. Lucky catch I guess. Still good to go this AM.

This tank has a glass versa-top on it too. The only gap is at each corner. Little bugger made it out of one of those.

Lucky you caught him!

Is there anything you could put over the gap? Like some kind of netting or plastic canvas (like for sewing)? Even duct tape with some holes punched in it would work I bet.

I used plastic wrap (like you'd use in the kitchen), held in place with duct tape (got the black-colored version to match the rim color). Worked like a charm, even on a saltwater tank with an octopus.

I blocked the gap better with the 'cut to fit' plastic stripping that came with the versa-top. These tops are kind of a pain in the butt on smaller tanks. :(

So far so good with the jumper. I can't tell him/her from the other two hatchets in the tank.
