Havin babies!

wow, seems like everybody's cichlids are having babies!
my horny red zebra cichlid is trying to mate with everybody in the tank....he's already got 1 of them holding eggs....hopefully they'll hatch within 2 weeks or so..
i don't know what i'm going to do with all the babies if he knocks all 4 females up!!! I don't have the room for them yet~~!!!

Getting IMPATIENT!
well sheesh I guess its only been TWO weeks since my electric blue spawned...shes looking pretty haggard! Not to mention my Auratus hitting her in the mouth trying to get her to drop the eggs im sure so she can EAT them which is what she was doing during the egg laying process...any that dropped she got them...talk about being able to move FAST! So, I guess I still have awhile..a week or two before she drops them? *sigh*

Yeah, Jen I remembered you have a Lab thats holding as well! I think I have a large net I could catch her in and just close the lid on it so no one can get at her or the babies when she spits them out...good idea. I dont have an "extra" tank but want to get a bigger tank to put all of my cichlids in so I can use the present tank for treatment/babies/whatever.

my hubby (a rare gem) ran up to the LFS and bought a plastic box that hangs on the tank but sits down in the tank itself, caught mama and put her in there so no one can harrass her now! and will still have enough time to get used to being in there before we get babies! yay

Now, I KNOW my fish was holding eggs for over 3 weeks now...I had even sep. her from the rest of the fish into a small container that sat down inside the tank...yesterday as I was feeding the others some food floated over into the container...I happened to look over there and saw her EAT! The eggs are gone??? but I have yet to see ANY sign of babies in the tank...they would have been small enough to swim out of the container. Do you think after holding over 3 weeks she swollowed them??? *sigh*
