heater or not in cichlid tank

just wondering if i need to have a heater in my 55 gal cichlid tank that i just set up yesterday. no fish waiting for water parameters to go down. and i don't have a temp on it yet so i don't know what the temp is but do you always have to have a heater. i houses temp really stay about the same (74 to 80).

and if i do need a heater which would be the best one for a 55 gal?

Yes! Not only do heaters keep tanks warm but they help keep the temp steady. So yes it is needed.

Agreed, yes to a heater in the tank. I use 150-200W heaters for my 55s, they seem to work well for me.
