Heater Prefrence

Whats everybody's prefrence on heaters?

I need 1 that can heat my tank.......up to the 80's.

What do you think?

Tank: 55gal, AC500 (filter) 2 sponges

If you have the money i'd go for a ebo-jager 150 and 100 put one on each side, helps protect you against a heater switch failing on or off.

I'm scared of Ebos LOL.......this is gonna be a discus tank. And i have heard many a stories about Ebos failing. I'll have to check it out more........

Any more prefrences?

I use any heater. as long as it's in good shape.
I have old hang on tank heaters... I've never had a heater stick.. the only thing that goes on when I empty the tanks, sometimes I forget to unplug the heater.
Sounds like frying bacon when you refill the tank.
I use visitherms in my larger tanks, an ebo jager in the 110 and Tronics in the other big tanks. (the hang on heaters only really go on 10's, 15's and 20's)

Which reminds me I should really put heaters BACK IN/ON my tanks. they have been on hiatus for the summer. Now it's getting cold up here in Canada Eh? Some tanks are running around 71-72. Burr...

Visitherm... been working like a charm.. heck I don't even to adjust it. One "click" does it all

Got 20 heaters in 20 tanks so far. I need a few more there are some unheated. I had to throw a few out.

i like the via aqua titanium heaters.never any diffrence in temp.good price from big al's.marineland dual temps and visitherms are nice too.i like the via aqua cause it can go up to 93f.and the aqjuster is external so it's not too hard to change the temp.

I think Visitherms are the best too. I have a Visitherm Delux and it is certified to be within 1* of accuracy and you don't have to guess the temp, you just set it.
