I'm not happy with my current heater. I'd like one that is much more adept at keeping my water at a constant 75 f without overheating the tank half the time. This is only a 29 gallon tank and the room that houses my tank is air conditioned, so I really do think it's a problem with the heater.

If you have a heater that you like, please share!

so far the best ones ive used are the Via-Aqua stainless steel/titanium heaters, even more reliable than the ebos ( even if completely emersed they will not break) plus they have an external thormostat and seperate probe. but the bif thing is that you CANT break them, no fish that should ever be in an aquarium could snap it (like the glass heaters) and if you say forget to turn it off and its sitting in the air for an hour going full blast (yess i tested it this long) you can still count on it working perfectly afterwords. so you may buy what you like but i am now a die hard fan of via-aqua metal heaters.

cheers

A few degrees over 75 is nothing to worry about. I second OCCfan, Jagers are excellent, but I've also tried Visitherms and Renas and have no complaints so far. Just make sure the heater dial has actual numbers on it, not just bars.

lol, ive used that inline heater before, its alright, meaning it works but ive found they dont last, mine died after only 6months, also i know a guy who went threw 3 in 2 years. but they will hold a solid temp and luckily when they die they seem to go cold not hot.

cheers

To continue Visi-Therm Discussions...

I am going to purchase a new heater and have been looking into Visi-Therm. The current heater I have has a short electrical cord which causes problems reaching the outlet. Does anyone know what length a 100W Visi-Therm cord is?
