It will have no problem heating the water. Only thing is that with a heater that big and a tank so small, if it gets stuck in the 'on' position then it will really fry the tank. I would just keep an eye on it.

Yeah but what Orion is trying to say is that sometimes they dont turn off. Its electronic and it can fail. So just keep your eye on it. Its a small tank and God forbid it doesnt shut it could kill your fish. We are not trying to tell not to do it but that its just something to watch.

Ok I put the heater in waited the 15 min(aclamation time) and set at 79 and plugged it in and it was the right temp and turned off. The light was on then it reached it degree and shut off. I also have to keep the little feedwer lid open so that it steadys the temp also. it got steamy so I opened it up all is fine the tank is a nice 76-79 happy fishy too.

I got a new plastic plant for him also and it glows int he dark! Can't wait to see that! He will have anight light isn't that cute.

yes being they like warm water it would be good..

Here in calif we have has nice 70+ weather and our a/c in the building has been wacky so the heatr helps flipper.
The heater is glass and there is a reflection and he keeps staring at himself, vain boy!
