cant really remember when i last posted but i know it was early last year when i had my tiger barb shrimp set up in my 4 foot which ended like this before i tore it down and bought something new.

i decided i wanted to go a little smaller and concentrate on an aqua scape 1 species aquarium so i bought myself an aquaone 620t

spec is

aquarium - 620mm x 600mm x 400mm long x high x deep
lighting was not very good and was replaced with 2 t5 growlight white bulbs
filter is trickle filter in hood with 650lph power head and additional 3000lph wave maker/power head 300 watt heater and now pressurized co2 although i did start with the tetra aerosol style which was rubbish.

substrate is sand only which was my 1 mistake as i should of used aqua soil but never mind and sand does look better imo

hardscape is bogwood and rock with different grade gravel towards the front

plants are long leaf java fern, narrow leaf java fern, java fern, java moss, christmas moss, dwarf hair grass, riccia flutains which has not yet arrived

fish are harlequin rasbora, otto's and then a mix of crystal red , amano , and red cherry shrimp..

here is some pics from start to now

1st lay out day 1

really didnt like this so it soon changed to this

this also was very non liking to the eye lol so i tried adding and this is what became

i didnt like the planting at the rear seemed too busy for my liking so removed them and went to this

which i was happy with for a while but something still was not right so decided to strip out and start again anyway by this point the tank had cycled with the 3 platy i had put in to get it started

this is what became of the fresh start which i hated from the start and was starting to think why i had bought such a shorth high tank as nothing seemed to work

so i started looking for inspiration and found this pic

Welcome back, I remember your other tank when you were setting it up! Your new tank is really stunning and will look fantastic when the plants have grown in. Just goes to show that with a bit of time and patience planning you can achieve something really lovely. Please keep us updated :)
