HELP APPRECIATED!! Black Under Fin & Lips Turning Black

I have a parrot fish that I have been treating for Ich. The Ich seems to be going away (other fish are fine), but it appears he has something else too. Under his top fin is a line that appears dark brown/black in color. A few days have gone by and he now has a dark line around his lips. Is this a parasite? I have tested the water and it appears to be ok.

It sounds like cotton wool disease. You should be able to get a medication to treat it at your local fish store. Has the ich gone away? It's not a good idea to mix medications, so you would have to remove the ich medication first. What ich med are you using?

Can you post the results of your water tests?

Yes, the Ich appears to be going away.

try going to www.irfanview.com and downloading their program...its very easy to resize pictures without losing quality like you do in paint.

I don't think it is Cotton Wool. The water is good. We just purchased the fish. I think it is due to stress.

The pictures do not really show it very good. His lips look black and under his top fin is a blackish line.
