Help ID the sickness

I have a clown loach that I have had for almost a year. I noticed today he didn't come to eat. I foudn him hiding in his cave with a small white worm looking string coming out of his spine from a red wound. The loaches body also seemed "pinched" from the top if that makes sense. I tried to get some pics but he is hiding too well. Any ideas?

Yea, I looked there but nothing looked like it. The closest was a bacterial infection but I've never seen bacteria that was stringy and hanging from a wound.

No, Ick manifests as specks of white all over the fish. This reminded me of a worm. I think it might have been some sort of internal parasite that had broken through. The loach died a few hours after I noticed it.
