Thanks for the hint

BIG RED SPECIAL
i made a searchy on the net from you hint ropefish (at least i know now hat to search).

It's too fat and big for the original ropefish. It matches however to Senegal Birchir.

Thanks for the replies.

<<< The LFS sold it to me a year(plus) ago as 'dragon fish' (not aro or violet goby, i have both) and I kept it in my RBP pond. I just recently wanted to verify what it is so captured it and placed on my 50g tank. It's impossible to photo them on the pond coz there are lotsa hiding places and the water is moving.

I was thinking it looked aweful fat for a ropefish, but I just assumed it was a camera trick. Good job with the search; My next guess would have been some type of Bichir.

Someone on here(Can't remember who... sorry!) Keeps several varieties of bichir(Along with other uncommon fish); if they're still active on here I'm sure they'll give you all kinds of info.

I think it's fruitbat that keeps masses of bichirs. They seem like really neat fish. You can PM him to ask him, or just post something about wanting bichir info and you should get responses. Fruitbat posts in the preditory fish section normally, so you'll probably do better to ask there.
