I assume (First rule of life is to assume NOTHING) that this has happened to a new tank.... (Always cycle tanks before filling with fish. Then add one or two small fish about a week apart to allow the "Bugs" to acclimatise then all should be well.. ). If so Big water change regularly (Every day) until the readings are 0 again.. then slow down to the more normal 25% per week ish.. If this is an established tank then do the same. but try to find the reason why it peaked.. If you changed too much water, and the filter medium, at the same time, there is a distinct poss that you will kill of HUGE amounts of "Bugs" and the tank will recycle.... (Just a thought.)

P.S. I will ask this again ... Why do people NOT like cycle?.... I have used it for years and have never had any problems with it......
