Help! need advice asap

hiya my mums got rid of her tank so i took on her fish and she had a single male golden gourami and well i already have a female opaline gourami and well ive put them together exept the golden gourami is constantly chasing my opaline one and i really wouldnt want to loose her especially if things are gonna get worse. what shall i do?

think its a 2ft tank. not sure to be exact.

Hmmm, you could make a divider for the tank. Check the DIY forum, there's plenty of threads on it in there.

well atm ive put the golden gourami in one of them plastic things in the tank

How big is the plastic "thing"? That type of fish needs a TON of swimming space. I think the reason she is chasing the male is becase she is in breeding condition.
