Can you guys/gals help me ID this fish? I'm pretty sure it's in the cichlid family, just not sure which species.
I've attached two pics below. Hope they are good enough for you to ID him, he just would not hold still very long. If it helps any, the bottom portion of his tail fin is yellow, not sure if you can see that in the pics. The rest of his coloring is pretty visible.

Thanks,
Donna

If that's a krib I'm a haddock. Melanochromis auratus, female or juvi male. Notoriously nasty 'mixed cichlid' put there cause anyone who knows what it is won't buy it

Ok, well, here is a behavior description:
He runs around like a landlord all day running everyone out of all the rocks and caves and hiding places. He sits in one hiding place for a few minutes, just long enough for one of the cats, or the loach or someone else to get comfy at the other end of the tank in another cave, then runs over and evicts them from that one. And then chills in it for a few minutes and starts again.

Now a physical description plus you saw the pics:
He is about 3" long, cylindrical body, whitish with black stripes running the length of his body, bottom half of tail fin is yellow.

Now I'm going to go look up kribensis, and Melanochromis auratus
