My first adventure into the cichlid world did not go as planned. I started with approximately 23 juvenile ps. saulosi in a 30 gallon (long) tank, with the intention of trimming the group down to 12-15 once they could be sexed. Sexing them turned out to be a little more difficult than I expected, I lost several fish, and gave all but 4 away.
For the past 6 months or so I have 4 Saulosi, 1 male and 3 females. I saw 1 fry once but never saw it again.
I'd like to do something with this tank again, but am unsure of what direction to take it. I'd like to try to rebuild my saulosi population, although I don't know if that is feasible as adding to the population may only create problems. I could start fresh, and get new juveniles, or I could try new species, cichlid or non cichlids.
What would you do?
