When I changed his water this morning, my betta scraped himself on a plastic plant. He lost a big patch of scales in front of his dorsal fin. Any advice? He was in shock for a minute and just lay on the bottom of the tank without breathing. Now he's breathing again, but he's just sitting in one spot. I lowered his water level halfway, since he seemed to be having trouble moving around and put in some salt, but I'm really worried. Doesn't seem to have damaged anything internal, but its a big scrape. I'll watch for infection. Any recommendations besides salt to help him heal and stop infection? I've been meaning to replace the plastic plants with live ones but I hadn't gotten around to it yet. I feel terrible.

Thanks guys. Here's me headed to the lfs. Yep, Iggy. I'd been doing my reading on low light planted tanks with the intention of changing his over to live plants. I'll do it as soon as I'm sure Harry's well enough to tolerate some changes to his environment.
