I have recently purchased a bamboo shrimp and for some reason he looks like I do after a realy bad sunburn and I start to peel. He has white flakes all over. Is this somthing I need to be concerned about and if so what do I need to do? Any help at all is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

actualy, upon closer inspection, it looks like white air pockets or thick bubbles. Could it be a fungus of some type? I am worried about Fred, we are all already attached to the cute little guy. (Fred is the shrimp!!)

The changing color part is perfectly normal, but the "white flakes" concern me. Are you sure it's not just a part of his color-pattern?

And don't forget, these shrimp will moult (shed their old shells), just as crayfish do. Perhaps he is in the process of doing this or getting ready to do so.

It's really hard to say without pics. Pics would help a lot.
