After quite a while, I'm back! But with even more quesitons about bettas.

Recently, I decided to try my hand at breeding bettas. After my first unsuccessful attempt, I tried again. I found out today again that it was unsuccessful. Why? Because the male ate all the eggs.

So, my question is, why in the world is the male eating all the eggs? I've gotten the female out right after breeding and I've also done everything I could to try not to stress the fish out...why? WHY? Is there any way to prevent this cannibalism?

welcome back !:) well... most fish when they spawn will need atleast 10 tries before they get it spot on... its not uncommon for them to eat the eggs or not do it right.. they need more and more practises before they get it right... keep making them try to spawn because it will make them get better and better at it ...

Some males are egg eaters and there isn't much you can do about it. You can try him again or try using another male instead. How large is the tank you are breeding them in ?
