I'm going to attach two photos. These are new fish I got this weekend. Both are powdery blue based and both have vertical red striping towards the back of the body.

Thinking I have two males, however the top fin of one is slightly more rounded than te other, which Master Google tells me could indicate a female.

Thoughts? I can take one back and try to get a more bland colored female if possible. Sorry for the lack of quality in photos. image.jpg image.jpg

They are both males. Females are a dull silver as you mentioned, and not sold at fish stores nearly as frequently as the males - at least around here I only see them once in a blue moon. FWIW, two dwarf gourami males together can be a problem...they often become aggressive toward each other.

This explains why one is hiding in the plants behind the driftwood. Will one alone be ok? I can rehome one to my mother in laws mollie tank. But my other tank contains a betta and I know they won't get along.
