Help!

Hi, I have a burning question:

Is there a chilid that I can keep in a planted 10 gal., that wouldn't out grow the tank and fit in with:
5 barbs
1 dwarf frog
4 shrimp

I love the look of chilids and I would love to keep at least one in my tank(if possible). Also I am willing to do tons of research on the chilid that would do the best in my tank.

You might be able to put a bolivian ram in there. They are pretty hardy. What kind of barbs do you have?

I have 3 albino tiger barbs and 2 checkered barbs. They are about 1-1 1/2 inches long. Also I've had them for 5 months.

I think you could get a bolivian ram in there. You would definatly have to watch for any nipping going on between the tiger barbs and the bolivian. Other than that i think you will be ok.

Do you think that a blue or gold ram would do, instead of a bolivian ram. Not that I have anything against bol. rams.

Yea, you could do that. If you have had those barbs for 5 months then your tank should be well established. Just be sure to watch your water parameters.

Besides rams, is there any other chilids that I could keep in my tank?

Apistogramma (dwarf cichlids) would work as well. You could maybe put one in there, but you would be pushing it to fit 2 of them in there. No matter what else you put in the tank you will have to keep up with your water changes and make sure to do about 25% weekly change. You should also check your waters params regularly, once a week, if you don't already do that.

I would really watch the shrimp. They might become little snacks, so i hope you dont have a strong attatchment to them.

Would you recommend a certain type of dwarf chilid? I would like a colorful, diverse type. Any suggestions?

Does anyone know how large dwarf chilids grow to be?

sweet pickles is right... The shrimp would most likely be gone in the next 24 hours after putting the rams in... Plus, the temp needs to be high for them. 80-82 degrees.

Usually under 3 inches. As for looking for one you should check out aquabid.com and see what you like.
