HELP!

I just set up a 55g community with an over flow and I am having a heck of a time keeping fish out of the over flow, I don't want to shut down the tank and Silicon somethingto the over flow, What else can I do, I have tried hot glue and some scrub pads, but it doesn't stick for very long, and eggcrate has to big a holes.

Is the overflow just a square box? What you can do is cut small squares in the box (hmmm, hard to explain). So instead of having a straight side:

you would have the side looking like this:

|_| |_| |_| |_|

Make any sense! You can make the cut square quite small. Then use a mesh/screen on the inside to keep other junk out also or fish if need be!

Here is a picture of it, also it was done before I got the tank, someone else had the LFS do it, it isn't quite square.
