Not knowing parots very well, but I think they'd fit...

You could keep a pair of angels in there pretty easily. Most of the dwarfs like apistos, rams etc. Would work.

Convicts could be done, except you'd have issues of either dead convicts (if they're the same sex) or tons of fry to deal with if not.

Not sure about the africans, but I did keep a pair of red zebras in a 20g for a few months...

severums get way too large for a 30 (12"), shellies would be good if provided with lots of shells and a sand substrate, dwarf apistos, rams, a pair of convicts, 2 angelfish (may fight but might be ok in a 30gal), 1m 3f or 1m 2f peacocks, not jacobs due to their larger size

Angels sound like the fish for you! They get 6" long(I think long?) but I've seen bigger. As long as you have only 2 I think they would be great. They aslo breed preety easly. If you don't want to breed them you could push 3. I give my angels at least 10g a piece for full grow size.

Keyholes would be excellent in a 30 gal. I have 3 and they are awsome fish. Hardy, active, attractive, and they are one of the few cichlids that actually like each others company.
