I was just wondering and not even thinking about trying it but since bettas and gouramis(hope I spelled it right) are both labyrinth fish can a gourami be kept in a fish bowl like a betta. It's just a question, I don't plan on acting on it!

I've heard that you could as well. In fact, I had to reccommend it once to a customer because they're blue gourami was just beating the crap out of their little 10 gallon community and they didn't want to buy a whole new tank for it. At least, they didn't want to flush the fish, that's why I told them to pop it in a bowl and make sure they took excellent care of it. So far, they keep comming back telling me the gourami is fine and dandy. I've never done it myself.
