Hexamita....advice needed

My male green terror has white stringy poop. :-[ Sorry but that's the only way I know to describe it.  I looked under discus discussion, and found more info there.  He does not have hole in the head only the white/clear long poop.  I have been treating w/ Paragon II.  Changing water before dose, and the next day.  It says 3 treatments are suggested, to do every other day, 3rd due tomorrow.  I do water changes and gravel vac twice a week.  Water test fine.  Has anyone had any experience with Paragon?  Also raised temp to 82F.  Am I doing the right thing.  He is eating flake, and bloodworms, but wont eat the pellets anymore.  His appitite has decreased.
This is the only med at lfs I could find that mentioned hexamita.  Open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks again Red T for the info.  I think I have read some of that in my search for answers.  The main ingredient in Paragon II is metronidazole.  Did last treatment tonight.  Some of the links on this page listed double dose, or mixing with food.  If I dont see results soon, I will try the food/med mix.  He is readily accepting blood worms and flakes.  Treatment suggests treating every other day for 5 days (3 treatments), am doing massive water changes also.  Repeat full treatment in 3 days if necessary.  Should I put carbon filter back in,, in the mean time???    thanks again, charlotte

Carbon will help remove the medication however if you are already doing massive water changes, that probably will not be nesseccary. Unless however, you normally use carbon in filtering. I do not use carbon at all.
