I have a red tailed black shark who appears to have this...maybe. There is definite damage above one eye, it is pinkish and kind of puffy, though this appears to be the only problem I can see. To me, it looks like he scraped him self (like when you skin your knee almost) however it has not healed itself any as far as I can tell...the disease database said it will likely go away on its own, but I was wondering if anyone else had experience with this. The thing that is odd is that he doesnt seem thin, or to have lost any weight...should I try to find some sort of commercial cure for this? I can try to get a photograph this afternoon if it will help ID the problem

I've always recommended Maracyn as a general treatment. If it turns out to be hole in the head, though, I've only found a treatment involving copper (Geneal Cure or some such) to work well, and then only if the water is kept clean.
