They are my FAVORITE fish. My 20 gallon long river tank is set up for them. They are a very unique fish to keep. Make sure you have LOTS of algae covered rocks for them to graze on. They are NOT algae eaters, but eat the microscopic critters that grow in algae. THey also LOVE frozen bloodworms and frozen brine shrimp, but you'll have to MAKE SURE they get food if they share the tank with other fish. I feed mine using a turkey baster. I have kept them for a couple years now in a river tank setup with strong current. My river tank turnover ratio is once every 3 minutes, and this emulates their natural environment a bit.
