since my maxi-jets 300/230 is a little strong for my 10g nano (its kicking up a lot of sand...like theres a 4 inch hill now...)

first i was using a 1/2" straw and cutting holes on one side. i got that idea from a sea food supermarket. but the straw just didnt evenly spread out the flow.

i was thinking i could get cvp pipes and drill small homes on one side. has anyone done this? i would mind buying deflectors but good ones are hard to find.

mine looks a lot like wat GIS showed but somewat different

heres some shots (finally my camera was fixed costed my dad around $25)

heres wat the back side looks like (there both the same)

the front of the 300 gph (notice theres more holes)

the front of the 230 gph (notice theres less holes)

full tank shot

looks kinda ugly but will fix that later...

the full tank shot was taken 2 hours later when the sand cleared a little

the flow is great now. theres no sand kicking up and theres still a strong flow

the 12 inch tube costed me $.84 and the strip ties was to block the flow off from the powerhead output (had to cut that part open a little, wouldnt fit...)

so i spent like less then a dollar on this but spent like an hour setting and modifying everything...
