I just bought a hood for the 29g and it doesnt fit.. On the box it says for 29g but its a tiny bit too long to fit inside the tank. I can rest it on the top of the frame but I dont feel as secure as i would if it was inside. I already cut the plastic so that I can have the openings for the filter and heater so Im not sure if I can return it.. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to make it fit?

Also can someone give me the wpg on this since I have no idea how to calculate it?

Think it would be 1.45 wpg (29 gal divided by 20 watts)

I'm guessing it doesn't fit on the little lip area kinda like in the rim of the tank?

I'd take it back to the store. ask to compare it to another one exactly like it (same brand), to see if that particular one is defective, if they sell other 29 gal tanks set it on one of those to see if it does fit there

ask for your money back, the worst they can do is say "no"........it never hurts to ask

Ok ill try that. Yeah it doesnt fit in the lip inside and its like 2 centimeters too short. Im gonna call them up and see if they will take it back before I go there. This store is about 25 minutes from my apartment so its a pain to have to go back.. ggrrr

Its one of those perfecto hoods. I dont know what the tank is I bought it off of craigslist. But I will try and see if I can find onethat fits. Does anyone have any advice on the glass hoods? Which is better?
