sunset platy
green tiger barbs

HI, Platys are easy to sex, the male has amodified anal fin called gonopodium, it is a tube for the transferal of sperm directly into the female.
Barbs are another thing, females slightly broader and generally larger, very difficult to sex even for the experts. 8)

Well. Platy's u really don't breed it just happens. Well, first (if you want to save the fry from the hungry mouth of mom) you get a tank like 5 or 10 gal put a heater and a sponge filter in the tank. Put some plants in there and just wait. A couple days later take out dad but leave in mom then once the fry appear take out mom.Then once the yolk is gone feed the fry some baby brine shrimp.   ;D You should have Great fry after that and don't forget about the water changes 8)

Yes the platies arn't really anything to breed. The barbs are so hard to sex it's almost impossible when they're young. At one of my lfs's they have male and female tanks. They say they are already determined by the shippers and that how they do it. I've never tried them though. I don't think you can tell when they are young at all. It's just too hard. ;D
