How deep will lights go

I have a 4x54 watt HOT5 setup and am thinking of using it over a 24" deep tank. It would be a standard 90g and the light fixture is also 48" long. Would the addition of a VHO T12 help enough in lighting that deep of a tank. I would like to house most corals/inverts in the tank and wonder if the lighting situation would accomodate.

if you want to keep a lot of different corals you will want something more then 4 T5 bulbs over it, a few VHO bulbs would help
