How do i tell the sex of gourami?

I've got blue and gold gourami but i have no idea how to tell what sex they are. I've read that one has a pointier fin or something but when i go and look it's really difficult to be sure. Help!

My avatar is one of the blue, can anyone tell the sex of that one from the pic!

yeah the males have a point at the back of their dorsal fin, the females have a rounded one. If you can, look at them all in the tank at your LFS, it's easy to tell the difference when you can see both at once.

I'm guessing your avatar is a male, but I can't say I'm positive, the pic is a little small.

I need to know, too! I bought two neon blue dwarf gouramis and the sign said they were all males. However, one has a pointed anal fin while the other has a distinctly rounded one. The suspected female is just as brilliant-colored as the male. She's the one that's always chasing the male though.

dwarf gouramis are much easier. The males are colored, the females are silver.
