how long before they start breeding?

hey question for ya,how long does it usually take cichlids to start breeding?my luck i got a bunch of males,and no females lol.im not impatient, just wondering,mine are all about 1 1/2 to 2 inches,i pretty much buy 2 of any kind that im getting. which i know i need to have 4 females to 1 male .will they mix breed automatically or do they stick to there own kind and mix breed out of necessity(i know us males)lol

What kind of cichlids do you have?

yellow labs, ,red zebras, blue zebras,a johanna,and a peackock,and another not sure what though

One of my pseudotropheus demasoni produced fry at just under a year (and the mom, born last june, is barely 2").
