I've added carbon to my filter as a precaution. My zoos aren't looking so hot--graying in their center, but green under actinics and from looking from above...do they change color sometimes? My GSP and mushrooms are fine, colt coral is doing it shrinking nasty act again (I've iso'ed the problem to water circulation), and I'm running the carbon just in case there's any chemo warfare going on.
I'd like to run this carbon as long as possible. How long would it be safe in there without the cartridge building up nitrates? I could rinse it out once or twice a week in tap water, kill any bacteria, as well as wash away detritus.
Also attached a poll for fun. (It's multiple choice too.)
