How long would it take?

I have a hosptial tank set up but it doesn't have a filter in it yet. I would like to seed a filter in my main tank that can be moved over when I need to use the hospital tank. How long do you think it would take to seed the new filter?

A few weeks, even though it might take only a few days. I would just let it go for that while to be sure. Plus you can get a little more bacteria culture if while you're running the filter on the original tank, you feed the fish a little more than usual.
