how many fit ?

i have a 10 gallon and all its requirements ready for fish. its been cycled for 3 weeks and ready for some cichlids. i would like to put many small cichlids (electric blue etc. ) in it because they look nice small. how many can i fit ??

Lol you cant put a electric blue in a 10gal. Well you can but its way to big for a 10gal. For a 10gal i think you should look into shell dwellers!

i agree.

a 10 gallon is well-suited for a nice shellie tank, but is not even close to being large enough for any of the haplochromis.

for cichlids is there like an inch per gallon rule? and what are some of the names of shell dwellers because my dad saw some cichlids yesterday and he's decided to get another tank for cichlids (YAY!) although he's left me up to deciding what fish to get, any suggestions? i like bright coloured ones (preferably not bigger than 6 inches) for a 29 gallon.

i think that the most colorful shellies are the lamprologus ocellatus, so you can check those out if you like to.

a 29 gallon would make a killer shellie tank if you set it up right bro.

I agree, Lamprologus oscellatus are very cool looking. So are the meleagris.

theres not really a 1" per gallon rule with cichlids. Most will claim large territories, so the 1" per gallon doesnt work.
