You cannot put any goldfish of any species into a six gallon tank, eclipse or otherwise. Goldfish grow very very quickly, and will certainly need larger tanks each year. I was only able to keep two baby fantails in my own eclipse 6 for one year before they needed to be moved to the 20 gallon tank. Now they currently reside in my 30 gallon tank, are at least 5 years old, and are 7 inches in length each.

Goldfish usually live on average 15-20 years, and the round species can grow as large as softballs. Shubunkin, commets, and "feeder fish" can grow to be 24" or more.

If you do intend to keep a pair of baby goldfish in a system six, you will need to do a 50% water change twice a week to keep the ammonia from building up.
